A Ministry of The Praxis Center for Church Development

The Praxis Center for Church Development started out of a relationship where two very different Christian brothers who shared a common journey with Jesus. Tom Johnston and Mike Chong Perkinson - one on the East Coast of the U.S. and the other on the West Coast - came together as colleagues with a passion to see the Church in the West renewed and Christian leaders developed around the simplicity of the New Testament and the Jesus way of disciples.

Founded in 2003, Praxis has worked with pastors, leaders and churches from over sixty different denominational groups in the areas of leader development, church development and church multiplication. With a focus on “resourcing through relationship,” the Praxis team has served through coaching, training, mentoring and strategic consultations with churches and denominational groups, with a special focus on church and leader multiplication systems.

The Trivium Institute for Leader Development is a ministry of Praxis, and embodies the current fullness of both learning and experience the Praxis team has gleaned from decades of field experience in both ministry and education. The Trivium Institute is the next progression in the work of Praxis, serving as a cutting-edge platform for Christian leader development.
